How did Cavaleta come about ?

I traveled a lot in Asia: it's a highly developed means of transport there. That made me want to do it in Nice too. I was also interested in the sporting aspect, not to mention the fact that it's a real form of local transport.

We have four bikes, small models, that aren't flashy. We want to keep a low profile.

What are you proposing?

We have three formulas. The discovery tour lasts thirty minutes and is essentially based on Old Nice. We also have a one-hour grand tour, which is the same thing but with a little more seaside. It takes in the Negresco, the Port, Place Garibaldi, the Promenade des Arts and finishes with Place Masséna.

Third is the prestige tour, lasting just over an hour and a half. We add the reserve, the Russian church and the musicians' quarter. We also run errands to get from one place to another.

During these strolls, we tell anecdotes about the city. We have quite a few Niçois. Some time ago, I had a father who received this gift. At the end, he said to me 'you've taught me a lot about Nice, when I thought I knew everything'. There's also a strong demand from residents for cab rides.

We recommend good addresses, such as Le Panier, Cose Cosi, Acchiardo, Chez Palmyre ... Tested and approved !

Do you work with local retailers ?

We've been working with the Negresco for six years now . There's also the Pérouse, the Hyatt, the Splendid and, for some time now, the Anantara Plaza. Customers who want to go to Old Nice prefer the bike cabs. We do little thirty-minute rides with three EHPADs almost all year round.

Any anecdotes ?

Last summer, I got a call from the concierge at the grand hotel in Cap Ferrat. He said, "I've got a special guest, can you take him? I'll bring him by limousine". He wanted to take his son for a ride. I found the singer Souleye, who is Alanis Morissette's husband. We've had several stars, and they're all nice surprises.

Any plans ?

We want to keep our structure small, on a human scale. We continue to give priority to exchanges, without audio-guides. That's very important
